In a round match, the Caudillos de Chihuahua team overcame the Kings in Jalisco, with a final score of 14-48 in Week 5 of the LFA American Football League.

The scoring opened with a score from the Caudillos de Chihuahua, through Justin Lewis (#2) who received a short pass from Jeremy Johnson and running 19 yards scored the first 6 points of the game.

Caudillos' defense would do its job and stop Reyes' first offensive series, who would punt on fourth down, giving way to the spectacle of Juwan Manigo, who would return the punt 91 yards to the end zone to increase Caudillos' lead to 0-12.

At the start of the second period, the combination of Jeremy Johnson (#6) and Juwan Manigo (#13) would give six more points, through a 17-yard pass which “Sonic” would be in charge of reaching the end zone. In a conversion play, Caudillos would make it valid for two points in charge of a ground play with Justin Lewis, score 0-20 for Chihuahua.

Reyes would seek to advance through the aerial game, until in a play trying to get out of his own field, Caudillos defender, Sergio Cantú (#26), would intercept and make a 42-yard “picksix” to add 6 more points to Chihuahua's advantage, the score 0-26, with 10:00 minutes left before halftime.

In the next offensive series of the home team, the defense would once again make a big play through Taurian Taylor (#0), who would intercept to give possession to Chihuahua. Offensive that Caudillos would take advantage of to score one more score, this time Johnson would connect with Emmanuel Harris (#15) to add six points to Chihuahua, the conversion would be good with a pass to Markcus Hardy (#18), score 0-34 in the absence of 4:30 minutes for break.

Juwan Manigo would once again return a 53-yard punt and after the good extra point by Enrique López (#16), the score would be 0-41 for Chihuahua.

Reyes de Jalisco would be present on the scoreboard in the last minute of action of the first half, with a pass to the diagonals to Tavares Martin who would lower the ball and put the score at 7-41 to go to halftime.

Upon resumption, already in the third quarter, the defenses managed to stop the opposing attacks, until again Juwan Manigo received a 42-yard pass from Johnson to increase the lead to 7-48 after Enrique López's extra point.

Jalisco would respond with a 7-yard touchdown pass to Devin Heckstall and with the extra the third quarter score would close 14-48 for Caudillos.

Chihuahua, already under the command of Víctor Cruz (#17) on offense, would be in charge of consuming the game clock with its ground game, running most of the last period on neutral ground, closing the match with a final score of 14-48 for the Caudillos.

The Chihuahua team, with this victory, remains the leader and the only undefeated team in the 2023 LFA season. Next week the American Football League will not have activity, resuming Caudillos on April 15, when it receives the Dinos de Saltillo team at the Estadio Olimpico Universitario.
